I'll never forget entering my first race when I was just eight years old. Pictures prove that I was a proud runner in my pink shoes, holding up my finisher's ribbon and race t-shirt with an alligator on the front. I'm not positive it had to do with the fact that my dad was running marathons, but I'm pretty sure it did. From then on, I was hooked.
As President of the Central Oregon Running Klub, I hope to nurture and pass on this love of running I have grown to know. Over 30 years ago, a few runners convened at bar stools to create what we now know as the Central Oregon Running Klub or, CORK. We are now over 100 members strong and continue to celebrate this empowering, beautiful sport as a community. As future generations discover their passion for running, and wiser generations become faster than ever, it is my hope that CORK continues to grow at a steady pace touching each and every runner in Central Oregon along the way.
